The bass-baritone Simone Alberghini born in Bologna and he made his debut in 1993 at Teatro Regio in Turin; winner of Operalia Competition in 1994, since then he appeared in many of the most important national and international Opera Houses and continues to appear under the baton of such internationally renowned conductors as Vladimir Jurowsky, Zubin Mehta, Andrew Davis, Gianandrea Noseda, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Osawa, Alberto Zedda, Maurizio Benini, Michele Mariotti, Renato Palumbo, Emmanuel Villaume, Nicola Luisotti, Eduardo Muller and Michael Tilson Thomas.Alberghini's repertoire include roles such as Conte, Figaro, Gugliemo and Don Giovanni; Dandini, Assur, Lord Sidney, Mustafà Selim, Athanael, Lindorf, Coppelius, Miracle, Dappertutto and Escamillo including operas by Rossini Mozart and French repertoire. During the 2005 Glyndebourne Festival he performed Dandini in Cenerentola directed by Peter Hall under the baton of M.Jurowsky both at the Kennedy Center in Washington and at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Still in the USA, he performed Conte in Le nozze di Figaro at the Opera Company in Philadelphia. Mr. Alberghini is a regular guest at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, where he sang La Donna delLago, Zelmira, Otello, Tancredi, Torvaldo and Dorliska, Adelina and La Scala di Seta. He performed Athanael in Thais together with René Fleming at the Royal Opera House in London under M.A.Davis, and then again at Teatro la Fenice in Venice and at Teatro Regio in Turin. In summer 2008 he sang as Gugliemo in Così fan tutte at the Festival Mozart de la Coruna and as Escamillo in Carmen at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome and at the Sferisterio in Macerata. He then performed as Nick Shadow in The Rake's Progress under M. Noseda at the Settimane Musicali di Stresa . During the same season he sang Mustafà at Teatro San Carlo in Naples in occasion of a new production of L'Italiana in Algeri under Campanella, and he made his debut in the four male roles of Les Contes D'Hoffmann under Villaume and as Figaro at the Washington National Opera. In 2010 Mr. Alberghini performed as Figaro at the Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna, as Don Giovanni at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at Teatro Regio in Turin. In 2011 he was Dandini in Rossini's Cenerentola at Teatro Comunale in Bologna under the baton of Mariotti and Mustafà in Rossini's Italiana in Algeri at Complesso Monumentale del Priamar in Savona. Recent engagements include also: Semiramide (Assur)at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; Don Giovanni in Frankfurt and at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Le Nozze di Figaro, Figaro in Denver and Conte d'Almaviva at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna; Zaira (Orosmane) at the Martina Franca Festival; L'Elisir d'Amore at the Liceu in Barcelona; La Bohème (Marcello) and L'Elisir d'Amore at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Carmen at the Zurich Opera. Among his recitals with orchestra it is worth mentioning Verdi's Requiem with the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden under M. Sinopoli and with the orchestra Verdi of Milan under M.Chailly, under whom he sang Pulcinella in Lipsia with the prestigious Gewandhausorchester. Simone Alberghini returned to the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro where he performed Melchtal in Gullaume Tell, Michele Mariotti conducting and Graham Vick directing. Mr Alberghini recently performed Cardenio in Il Furioso all'Isola di San Domingo at the Donizetti Musica Festival in Bergamo then on tour in Savona, Modena, Ravenna and Piacenza; L'Elisir d'Amore in Washington; Così Fan Tutte and Guillaume Tell at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna (Mariotti/Martone); Anna Bolena in Moscow; Les Contes d'Hoffann in Piacenza, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Toulon; La Bohème in Tenerife; Cenerentola in Washington; Donizetti's Requiem in Copenhagen; La Gazza Ladra at the Rossini Opera festival; Così fan tutte in Florence; La Bohème in Palermo. Future plans include also: La Fille du Régiment in Barcelona; Il Trovatore in Tenerife; Il turco in Italia in Piacenza and Ravenna; Carmen in Bologna; Don Giovanni with the Opera de Lyon on tour in Oman.November 2015
